1. Domestic Tourism
Domestic tourism is a big business in some countries, bringing in a significant revenue for the economy of the local area and nationwide. Domestic tourism is the act of travelling for business or leisure within one’s home country. Garni-Geghard, Symphony of Stones in region, Noravank, Lori Fortress and many, many churches and places are among the most visited places in Armenia.
2. International Tourism
International tourism is the type of tourism when people cross national borders. Travel outside your country needs a visa and passport. Armenians mostly go abroad for vacation in summer and winter. For example, Egypt(Egyptian pyramids, red sea), Georgia (Batumi Black Sea), Russian (Sochi).
3. Business Tourism
Business tourism is defined as the act of traveling of people in the perspectives of business deals, business meetings, and business conferences. Like all countries, Armenians also go abroad for business tourism.
4. Adventure Tourism
Adventure tourism is a type of tourism in which tourist do some adventures activities like as skydiving, hill climbing, scuba diving. Adventure tourism is very popular among young Armenian tourists. For example, adventure tourism enthusiasts in Armenia can go to Yale Extreme Park in Yenokavan village, where you can do adventure activities such as horseback riding, hiking, and ziplining.
5. Wildlife Tourism
Wildlife tourism is people’s travel to different places to observe and interact with wildlife, flora and fauna in their natural habitat. Safaris, visiting the animal rescue centre, swimming with dolphins, etc. In Armenia birdwatching is popular in Vayots Dzor and Lori region.
6. Medical Tourism
Medical tourism is when a person travels to another country for medical care. People may travel to another country to get health care for many reasons, including:
Cost: To get treatment or a procedure that may be cheaper in another country.
Culture: To receive care from a healthcare provider who shares the traveler’s culture and language.
Unavailable or Unapproved procedure: To get a procedure or therapy that is not available or approved in native country.
The most common procedures that people undergo on medical tourism trips include dental care, surgery, cosmetic surgery, fertility treatments, organ and tissue transplantation, and cancer treatment. For example, Russians come to Armenia to have a nose surgery or treat their teeth, because it’s affordable and of good quality in Armenia.
7. . Cultural Tourism
Armenia is also famous for its cultural tourism, which offers many joyful and invigorating experiences that will be remembered for a lifetime.
Yerevan is rich in cultural life. Here there are many theaters and concert halls, there are many museums, one of which is the history museum dedicated to the difficulties, courage and victories of this fearless people, wave the carpet according to centuries-old traditions, taste the delicious local cuisine with the rich aroma and taste of the world-famous Armenian cognac.
